French Toast

Ingredients:

Bread slices - 4
Eggs - 2
Sugar - 2 tsp
vanilla extract - 5 drops

Direction:

  • Cut bread slices into triangle.
  • Break 2 eggs and add other ingredients.
  • Beat well using a whisk.
  • Place the egg slices in a pan.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the pan.
  • Turn the bread slices to coat completely absorbed about 5 minutes.
  • Heat another pan and brush with small amount of melted butter.
  • Place 4 bread slices on the pan.
  • Turn the bread slices again.
  • Sprinkle little powdered sugar and serve hot.

Brinjal kootu




Ingredients:

Brinjal - 5
Moong dal - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1 cup
Tomato - 1/2 cup
Red chilli - 2
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Samba powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste


Direction:

  • Pressure cook the dal.
  • Cut brinjals into small cubes.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,red chilli and curry leaves.
  • Add onions and sprinkle little salt.
  • Saute well and add tomato.
  • After tomatos are well cooked add brinjal.
  • Add the cooked dal and add turmeric powder,sambar powder and salt.
  • Close the lid for 10 or 15 minutes..our brinjal kootu is ready to serve.

Egg plant fry

Ingredients:

Egg plant - 1
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Rice flour - 1 tsp
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Mix chilli powder,turmeric powder,rice flour and salt together in a bowl.
  • Cut egg plant into round shaped pieces.
  • Mix egg plant pieces in the above mixture.
  • Heal oil in a pan and fry them until they are cooked.
  • Serve this as a side dish for dal.

Raw banana puttu

Ingredients:

Raw banana - 2
Onion - 1 cup
Red chilli - 2
Channa dal - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Shredded coconut - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Direction :

  • Pressure cook the raw banana.
  • Remove the peel and grate them using a grater.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,channa dal,curry leaves and onion.
  • Saute well and then add grated banana.
  • Now add shredded coconut and switch off the flame.

Salmon curry


Ingredients:

Salmon - 1 lb
Cumin seeds - 4 tsp
Onion - 1 cup
Tomato - 1/2 cup
Cumin powder - 3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 3
Curry leaves
coriander leaves
salt to taste
Mustard oil


Direction:

  • Heat mustard oil in a pan,add 2 tsp of cumin seeds and fry salmon well.
  • Heat mustard oil in another pan and add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves,onion,tomato,turmeric powder,cumin powder,corriader leaves and salt.
  • Add little amount of water and green chillies.
  • Now add fried salmon.Close the lid and allow to cook.

Shrimp fry


Ingredients:

Shrimp - 1 lb
Onion - 1 cup
Shredded coconut - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 2tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp
Lemon juice - 2 tbs
Ground black pepper - 2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 4
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Corriander leaves
Curry leaves
Oil
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Make a paste of Chilli powder,turmeric powder,Coriander powder,Fenugreek powder,Lemon juice,salt and pepper.
  • Marinate the shrimp using this paste for 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,onion,red chilli and coconut.Saute them well.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw smell goes.
  • Add marinated shrimp without water and cook.
  • Crush the fennel seeds and add to the pan.
  • Finally add chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Gulab jamun

Ingredients:

MTR gulab jamun mix
Sugar - 800g( 4 cups)





Direction:


  • Sugar syrup: Add equal measures of sugar and water and boil for 15 minutes.
  • Add 1/4 measure of water to 1 measure of mix and knead the mix gently into a dough.Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Make small balls and fry in hot oil over a low flame until golden brown.
  • Soak the gulab jamun in hot sugar syrup until they completely absorb the syrup and serve.

Muttai(egg) kuzhambu

Ingredients:

Eggs - 3 or 4
Onion - 1/4 cup
Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 2
Clove - 1
Black cardamom - 1
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
sambar powder - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Oil
Salt to taste



Direction:

  • Boil the eggs and cut partially on white.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add one cinnamon,poppy seeds,fennel seeds,onion and coconut.
  • Saute well for 10 minutes and then grind them in a blender.
  • Heat oil in the same pan,add mustard seeds,cinnamon,clove,black cardamom and curry leaves.
  • Now add the ground mixture.
  • Add sambar powder and salt and allow to boil.
  • Now add eggs slowly one by one.
  • This kuzhambu is perfect for idly and dosai.

Peas fry

Ingedients:

Green peas - 1 cup
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Rice flour - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 tsp
Salt to taste


Direction:

  • Boil green peas for about 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put boiled peas into the pan.
  • Add chilli powder,garam masala,rice flour and salt.
  • Saute well for 10 minutes.
  • Our peas fry is ready now.
