Surai kai koottu

Ingredients:

Bottle gaurd
Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Sambar powder - 1 tsp
Onion - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 1 cup
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Take 1 tsp of oil in a pan.Put mustard seeds,urad dal,onion and tomato.Saute well.
  • Pressure cook the moong dal for 5 minutes.
  • Add bottle gaurd and dal together to the pan.
  • Add turmeric power,sambar powder and salt to this.
  • Close the pan and allow to boil.
  • In this we can also add channa dal.
  • Many of us dont like this vegitable.It has purgative effect in it.
  • We should add this atleast once in two weeks.
