Badam halwa

Ingredients:

Badam - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Food color
Cashews

Direction :

  • Soak badam for 4 hours.After 4 hours remove the peel and pour them to a blender.
  • Add milk to the blender.
  • Blend badam and milk into a smooth paste.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add the paste to the pan.
  • Stir well in medium heat.
  • Add sugar and food color.
  • Stir continuously until it become a thick halwa.
  • Enjoy this halwa wiht your family.

Potato fry

Ingredients:

Potato - 2
Rice flour - 2tsp
Red chilli - 2tsp(as req)
salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp

Direction:

  • Remove the peel of the potatoes and cut into small pieces.
  • Add rice flour,red chilli and salt.
  • Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the potatoes.
  • Saute them and close the pan.After 5 minutes saute them and close.
  • If you do like this,you will get crispy potato fry....

More Kuzhambu

Ingredients:

Curd - 1 cups
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 2
Rice - 1 tsp
Coconut - 3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves

Direction:

  • Mix 1 cup water,turmeric powder and salt into the curd.set aside for half an hour.
  • Dry fry the channa dal and fenugreek.
  • Soak the fried channa dal and fenugreek wiht the rice for 15 minutes.
  • Blend them with coconut and red chilli.
  • Take curd mixure in a pan and add the blended paste in it.
  • Cook for 20 minutes.
  • Add water if you feel the kuzhambu is so thick..
  • Heat oil in another pan,put mustard seeds and curry leaves.Add them to the more kuzhambu.

Badam milk


Ingredients:

Almonds - 5
Milk - 1 cup
vanilla extract - 2 drops
Saffron
Sugar - 3 tsp

Direction:

Soak almonds in water for 2 hrs.
Remove the skin of almonds.
Put it into a blender with milk and blend it well.
Boil milk in a pan,add almond paste,vanilla extract and saffron.
Stir continuously for 15 minutes.
Cut some almond and put them into the milk.
Now out delicious badam milk is ready..

Coriander seed chutney

Ingredients:

Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
Red chilli - 3
Garlic - 2 nos.
Coconut - 2 tsp
Tamarind -
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Heat oil in a pan and put coriander seeds,red chilli and garlic.Saute them well.
  • Add them to a blender.
  • To the above mixture add tamarind,coconut and salt.
  • Blend them well.
  • Now coriander chutney is ready...
  • It is a good side dish for idly..

Venpongal

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 cup
Moong dal - 3tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Pepper - 1/4 tsp
Garlic - 5 nos
Ginger - little bit
Curry leaves
Ghee - 1tsp

Direction:

  • Fry the moong dal for 5 minutes.
  • Add dal to the rice and wash them well.
  • Heat oil in a pan,put mustard seeds,cumin seeds,garlic,ginger and curry leaves.
  • Saute them well.
  • Add this to the rice and dal mixture.
  • Add 1 tsp of ghee and salt.
  • Add required water and cook in a rice cooker or pressure cooker.

Urad dal chutney

Ingredients:

Urad dal - 3 tsp
onion - 1 cup
coconut - 3 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds
curry leaves

Direction:

  • Fry the urad dal for 10 minutes.
  • Add onion and coconut and saute well.
  • Add required salt and grind the above mixture.
  • Heat oil in pan and put mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add them to the paste.
  • Now urad dal chutney is ready.

Tomato chutney 2

Ingredients:

Tomato - 1
Onion - 1
Red chilli - 3
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Grind tomato,onion,red chilli and salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add the ground mixture and allow to boil for 10 or 15 minutes.

White kurma

Ingredients:

Potato - 2
Tomato - 1
Onion - 1
Green chilli - 2
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves
Coconut - 2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
Split chick peas(pottu kadalai) - 2 tsp

Direction:

  • Boil potato,peel off them and cut into small cubes.
  • Grind fennel seeds,green chilli,coconut and split chick peas.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed and curry leaves.
  • Saute well the onion and the tomato for a few minutes.
  • Add the grinded paste and saute well for 10 minutes.
  • Then add potatos and allow them to boil.

Spinach Rice

Ingredients:

Spinach - 2 cups
Rice - 1 cup
Green peas - 1/2 cup
corriander powder - 1 tsp
Briyani masala or sambar powder- 1 tsp
corriandeer leaves - 1/2 cup
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Green chilli - 2
Onion - 1 cup
Tomato - 1 cup
Salt to taste

Direction:

  • Heat oil in a pan,put mustard seeds,cumin seeds,curry leaves and corrander leaves in it.
  • Saute well the onion and the tomato.
  • Now add spinach and close the pan for 5 minutes.
  • Add corriander powder,briyani masala or sambar powder and salt.
  • Mix this to the rice and cook.
  • Eat this with boiled egg or any raita.
