Oats Pongal

Ingredients:

Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Oats - 1 cup
Green chili - 2
Mustard seeds/Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves

Direction:
  • Dry fry the moong dal and pressure cook it for 1 whistle.
  • Again dry fry the oats for 10 minutes and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,urad dal,urry leaves,cumin seeds and pepper.
  • Saute them for a while.
  • Add little water and moong dal.
  • Add the oats when dal starts to thicken.
  • Add required amount of salt and serve hot with sambar.

Spinach Vadai

Ingredients:

Basan flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Chopped spinach - 1 cup
Chili powder - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Green chili - 2
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

Direction:

  • Mix all the ingredients except oil.
  • It should be like chapathi dough.
  • Make small balls out of the dough and press them between your palm.
  • Heat oil and deep fry them.

White cake with chocolate frosting


Ingredients:

White cake mix - 1 pack
Eggs( only white) - 3
Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup
Ready to use chocolate frosting - 1 cup
Butter
All purpose flour
Direction :

  • Blend all the above ingredients in the blender.
  • Butter the cake pan and sprinkle some all purpose flour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Pour the cake batter into the pan.
  • Place the pan in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes,transfer the cake into a plate or decorating board.
  • Using a spatula,apply the frosting above the cake or melt the frosting and pour it above the cake.
  • Using a vegetable shredder,shred a semi sweet chocolate above the frosting.
  • Decorate it as you like.

Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting

Ingredients:

Chocolate cake mix - 1 pack
Eggs - 3
Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup
Ready to use chocolate frosting - 1 cup
Butter
All purpose flour

Direction :
  • Blend all the above ingredients in the blender except flour and butter.
  • Butter the cake pan and sprinkle some all purpose flour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Pour the cake batter into the pan.
  • Place the pan in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes,transfer the cake into a plate or decorating board.
  • Cool down the frosting to the room temperature.
  • Using a spatula,apply the frosting above the cake.
  • Decorate it as you like.

Cauliflower Soup

Ingredients:

Toor dal - 1/4 cup
Cauliflower - 2 cups
Tomato - 1
Sliced onion - 1/2 cup
Green chili - 3
Asafoetida
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Pepper - 1 tsp
Salt to taste


Direction:

  • Pressure cook the dal (with excess water) with turmeric powder and asafoetida.
  • After dal is cooked well,add cauliflower & salt and give a boil.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add onion and saute well.
  • After that add tomato & green chili and saute well.
  • Once tomato mashed well,add them to cauliflower and dal water.
  • Boil it for 10 minutes or cook till cauliflower cooks well.
  • In the pan add some oil,splutter mustard seeds,cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add it to the soup.
  • Finally sprinkle some pepper.
